История рождения Иисуса удивительна. Он – Сын Божий – родился в хлеву для скота. И вскоре после рождения Иисуса царь Ирод решил Его убить...

Но начнем с начала. В маленьком городе Назарете на севере Израиля жила девушка по имени Мария. Она любила Бога, и у нее было чистое сердце. Однажды ей явился ангел Гавриил, посланный Богом, и сказал: «Радуйся, благодатная! Господь с тобою: благословенна ты среди женщин». Мария, увидев его, смутилась. Но ангел сказал ей: «Не бойся, Мария, ибо ты обрела благодать у Бога; и зачнешь во чреве, и родишь Сына, и дашь Ему имя Иисус. Он будет велик и наречется Сыном Всевышнего, и даст Ему Господь Бог престол Давида, отца Его, и будет Он царствовать над потомками Иакова во веки, и царству Его не будет конца».

Мария тогда была обручена с благочестивым человеком по имени Иосиф. Она спросила ангела: «Как будет это, когда я еще не замужем?» Ангел сказал ей в ответ: «Дух Святой найдет на тебя, и сила Всевышнего осенит тебя; потому и Святое Дитя, Которое родится у тебя, наречется Сыном Божиим». Мария ответила: «Я раба Господня. Да будет мне по слову твоему». И отошел от нее ангел.

Узнав о том, что Мария ждет ребенка, Иосиф хотел отпустить ее, но ангел Господень явился ему во сне и сказал: «Иосиф, сын Давидов! Не бойся принять Марию, жену твою, ибо Дитя во чреве ее – от Духа Святого. Родит же Сына, и дашь Ему имя Иисус, ибо Он спасет людей Своих от грехов их».

The good news about the birth of Jesus

od sent his Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save mankind from their sins and from death. When he was born, a new era began on earth. Every time we say what year it is, we are reminded that Jesus Christ was born over 2000 years ago.

The story of the birth of Jesus is amazing. Just think about it, he - the Son of the Creator - was born in a stable. And soon after Jesus was born, King Herod decided to kill him.

But let's start from the beginning. A long time ago a young girl named Mary lived in a small town called Nazareth in northern Israel. Mary loved God, and her heart was pure. One day the angel Gabriel appeared to her. He was sent from God, and he said: "Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you!" Mary looked troubled when she heard this, but the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favour with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; his kingdom will never end."

Mary was engaged to be married to a righteous man named Joseph. She asked the angel, "How will this be? I am not yet married." The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.". "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

When Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant, he wanted to divorce her quietly, but an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
