IBT has published the book of Genesis in the Khakas language of south Siberia. This first book of the Old Testament includes key biblical narratives, including the creation of the world, Adam and Eve, Noah’s Flood, the Patriarchs, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Joseph and his brothers. The 500-copy print run features the Russian Synodal translation side by side with the Khakas text and includes maps of the ancient Near East.

The Khakas (who call themselves the Tadhar) number about 61,400  according to the 2021 census of Russia and live primarily in the Republic of Khakassia, Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Tuva. The Khakas language has approximately 42,600 speakers. Major dialects include Kyzyl, Kachin, Sagay, and Shor. The IBT translation uses the literary standard dialect, which is based on Sagay and Kachin. Currently, the language is in full use by the older generation. Among the middle generation, it often coexists with Russian but is used less frequently, while among young people, the majority have studied the language in school but do not use it in everyday communication, which makes Khakas an endangered language. 

Previously, IBT had released the following Scripture editions in Khakas: the Gospel of Mark (1995), "Jesus - Friend of Children" (1995), Luke/Acts (1999), the Gospel of John/Johannine Epistles/Revelation (2004), the Four Gospels (2007), the  Children’s Bible (2008), the New Testament (2009), the New Testament with parallel Russian Synodal translation (2011), and following a long intermission, the book of Jonah (a trilingual edition in Khakas, Russian, and English, 2021). IBT has also produced several mobile apps: «Олғаннар Библиязы», «Наа Молҷағ», «Ухаанҷы Йонаның киндезі».
