The Institute of Bible Translation has published a new Scripture edition in the Ingush language - the first-ever translation of the Gospel of John. This follows IBT’s Ingush-language publications of Luke's Gospel (2005, 2007); the books of Ruth, Esther, and Jonah (2015); and Genesis and Proverbs (2018).

The Ingush are a Vainakh ethnic group living in the North Caucasus, primarily in the Republic of Ingushetia. The total number of Ingush in Russia is about 450,000, acc. to the 2010 census. The Gospels are known to Muslims as the Injil, an Arabic word derived from the Greek “Euangelion” (Gospel), which means "glad tidings"...

 IBT has recently printed the Ingush translation of Genesis and Proverbs from the Old Testament.

According to the 2010 census of the Russian Federation, there are about 445,000 ethnic Ingush, the majority of which live in the Republic of Ingushetia in the North Caucasus region of Russia. Their language is closely related to Chechen and is a member of the Nakh language family. The Ingush writing system was developed in the early 20th century, first based on the Arabic script, then Roman script, and finally Cyrillic script (in 1938).

IBT has published a new book containing the first-ever translation of the Old Testament books of Jonah, Ruth and Esther in the Ingush language of the North Caucasus. Ingush is spoken as a mother tongue by more than 300,000 people in the Russian Republic of Ingushetia, with a total of about a half million ethnic Ingush in the entire Russian Federation. It is closely related to the neighboring Chechen language.

In January 2015 two translation team members from IBT's Avar and Ingush projects traveled to the Holy Land for a 10-day study tour focusing on the historical, geographical and cultural contexts in which the Bible was written.
