IBT has audio recorded the book of Psalms in the Yakut (Sakha) language and is currently preparing this recording to be made available to the public. This is the second book of the Bible in Yakut that can be listened to as well as read – in 2007, IBT's Yakut New Testament translation was audio recorded by the Yakut Republic Library for the Blind.

The Psalms were recorded in IBT's own recording studio in September. The primary reader was Mikhail Dyachkovsky, a well-known Yakut writer and poet who had also previously worked on translating the Orthodox liturgy into his mother tongue. Several Psalms were read by Sargylana Leontyeva, the translator of Psalms and other books of the Bible in IBT's Yakut translation project. The reading of the text is accompanied by music played by a Yakut on a khomus (jaw harp), the Yakut national instrument.

IBT was assisted in this recording project by Hosanna/Faith Comes By Hearing, a partner organization in the USA that has already produced its own recordings of IBT's New Testaments in Azeri, Georgian, Kalmyk, Karakalpak, Kumyk, Ossetic, Tatar and Tuvan. The recording of Yakut Psalms will soon be distributed on CD in Yakutia, and will also be made available for listening and downloading on the IBT website.
